Google Maps – How To Rank Towards The Top
Ranking at the top of the Google Maps result page is key for a local business. The problem is so many businesses are unsure how to do this they tend to give up and hope they are going to take over the ranking at some point or have the word of mouth take them to this spot. However, what you need to realize is this is actually quite a bit easier than what you think to do and it just requires some work on behalf of the businesses that are trying to rank.
Where to Add Your Business
The first aspect and generally the easiest is to make sure your business is listed under a profile on Google My Business, Yelp, Foursquare, and some of the other types of review websites. This can even include a listing on TripAdvisor as well to help you in getting the rankings you need to have. While you may think of this as a database and a lot of work, it is one way to help ensure your business is going to rank in the top part of the search engines, instead of the bottom part.
Something else you need to do is check out SEO Moz and the local listing directories they have listed. This is a good best practice we have used for Tampa SEO. This is going to help in ranking the businesses based off of the importance of getting a listing. For example, a doctors office is going to need to be listed in professional directories more than they would need to be listed in places like Tripadvisor or Yelp. So it is important to find these list and follow them to make sure you are going to be listed. What is even better is Moz has ranked this information based off of the importance of the search engines have placed on each one of the directories.
Getting Ranked on Google Maps
Getting to the top of Google Maps may seem like it would be an impossible task at times. However, it is not as difficult as what you would think and generally it is very easy to do. All that you have to do is make sure you know how to get on the top of the Google Maps and when you are submitting your information to all the directors the category and the business name are the exact same in each one. Then you can finally dominate the Maps section of Google on the local search results.
