Florida Museum of Photography
Just like it suggests in the name, the FLMoP is a museum dedicated to contemporary artwork, history, and information about the photographic artwork. By strolling into its doors you can find photographs of hundreds of events taken from dozens of angles. You can find out about the history behind the images, as well as information about the artist who took the photograph.

Tampa Bay History Center

What’s more, the museum is located along the Riverwalk. This means it has a beautiful view of some of the best horizons in all of Tampa. It has a river-side cafe, and a museum shop loaded with arts and crafts from local artists. The museum is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, while the Columbia Cafe is open from 11 am to 9 pm. Come in the afternoon, spend time learning amazing things, and then round it out with a great dinner. Prices scale according to age, but adults won’t pay more than $12.95 for a ticket.
Glazer Children's Museum
Looking for something a little more geared towards the children? Tampa delivers with the Glazer Children’s Museum. Located in Gasparilla Plaza, Glazer is an amazing place for children to learn and grow. It has hundreds of exhibits, but only some are permanent. You’ll have to come regularly if you want to see all of the traveling exhibits!
Keep an eye out for the special events, as well. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday 10 am to 6 pm, and Sunday 1 pm to 6 pm. Children under 1 are free, while children are $9.50 and adults are $15. It may seem a bit steep, but you won’t find a better place to spend the day that will cost you less money.
